They Wyman's were presented the perseverance award for all of their hard work on the penguin hat!

Amelia S. had 155 hours for the Pre-K top reader prize.

Alaina S. had 125 hours and the second highest reading level.

Kayla F. won the Pre-K grand prize, a family membership to the Henson Robinson Zoo.

Ophelia O. just barely beat out the others to win the top read prize with 235 hours.

Quincy O. was right behind her with 230 hours and a tie for the second highest reader.
And the winners are . . .



Paul S. also tied for second place with 230 hours. His sister was accidentally missed when we figured the results. Alexis S. had 220 hours and should have been our third place winner. We apologized and gave her a lovely prize package as well.

We had a special workshop today where the kids got to make their own boats!

They could choose any of the materials we had.

This boat was built by a very clever four year old. It held all of the weight we had to give it and it still kept floating! Amazing!

This week we made three small crafts. We made worry dolls. You could tell your troubles to your worry dolls, then you could sleep and they would take your worries away.

Our very first grossology 101 was lead by Dr. Colleen Koch who talked to us about animal body language. The kids are making like a tree.

Dr. Koch told us about clues that animals give to let you know you that they are not happy. If an animal is aggresive, stand like a tree with you head down or make yourself into a rock. Hopefully the dog will get bored with you and go away. Kids learned the five tools they have to deal with animals - eyes, mouth, hand, legs, and brain.
