Toys of Old Chad came to tell us the history of toys. Toys of Old A lot of the same toys we have today were created hundreds of years ago! Penguin Hat Our last craft was making a penguin hat! Penguin Hat It was a good amount of sewing! Penguin Hat But is was fun and we all ended up with a cool hat for a hot day! Penguin Hat They worked for almost two hours to finish their hats! That's dedication! Penguin Hat A happy hat man! Closing Party Ronald McDonald was here to entertain and amaze us! Closing Party She's floating! Closing Party He turned scarves into a butterfly! And the winners are . . . They Wyman's were presented the perseverance award for all of their hard work on the penguin hat! And the winners are . . . Amelia S. had 155 hours for the Pre-K top reader prize. And the winners are . . . Alaina S. had 125 hours and the second highest reading level. And the winners are . . . Kayla F. won the Pre-K grand prize, a family membership to the Henson Robinson Zoo. And the winners are . . . Ophelia O. just barely beat out the others to win the top read prize with 235 hours. And the winners are . . . Quincy O. was right behind her with 230 hours and a tie for the second highest reader. And the winners are . . . Paul S. also tied for second place with 230 hours. His sister was accidentally missed when we figured the results. Alexis S. had 220 hours and should have been our third place winner. We apologized and gave her a lovely prize package as well. And the winners are . . . Armand S. was our third place winner with 165 hours. Sorry about the bad picture! Ticket to Read - Crocodile We made crocodiles for the Australia week! Thanks DQ for the the treats! Ticket to Read - The Unsinkables! We had a special workshop today where the kids got to make their own boats! Ticket to Read - The Unsinkables! They could choose any of the materials we had. Ticket to Read - The Unsinkables! The only rule was that they kids can to design their own boats. Parents could only help hold things together. After the boats were built, we took them out to see if they would float. Ticket to Read - The Unsinkables! If at first you don't succeed . . . Ticket to Read - The Unsinkables! Try, try again. It held all of the weight we had to give it and it still kept floating! Amazing! Ticket to Read - The Unsinkables! If an animal is aggresive, stand like a tree with you head down or make yourself into a rock. Hopefully the dog will get bored with you and go away. Kids learned the five tools they have to deal with animals - eyes, mouth, hand, legs, and brain.
