Only $10 for an individual membership, $20 for a family membership or $100 for a lifetime membership.

The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to foster closer relations between the library and the community by providing financial support to the library.  The Friends also serve as a means to desseminate information; encourage the library's use as a center for educational, cultural and civic life; and assist in improving and expanding library facilities, resources and services.

How to join:
To join the Friends, pick up an application at the Jacksonville Public Library at 201 W. College Ave.

 Membership Categories

  • Individual:  $10
  • Family:  $20
  • Lifetime: $100


  • Programs: In addition to supporting Library Programs, the Friends have two annual meetings -- the Author of the Year Awards Ceremony and the Best Friends Award Ceremony.
  • Book Sales:  Book Sales are held periodically throughout the year.   Silent Auctions are also held throughout the year at the Jacksonville Public Library.
